About Delindel

Hiya ^_^

I’m Delindel, aka Dani IRL. I’m a 20-something  nail-addicted librarian living in Auckland, New Zealand. I live with my fantastic husband, his little brother, and a little cat called Lily. She’s a bit of a pain in the butt, and she meows constantly. But she’s super cute so I give her meaty treats.

Interesting things about me include my ability to understand and speak Japanese (I even have a degree in it), my addiction to all things nails (I swear one day soon I’ll count all my polishes… it’s definitely over 650 bottles though), and my deep and unbreakable love of music. I am well-versed in classical and jazz piano, my one true love. I have also dabbled in violin and trumpet, with a considerable degree of success. Guitar and drum abilities however, are abysmal. >_<

THIS IS ME (with the Husband)!

My wedding photos are the only ones of me that I like!

Check out Lily =^_^=

Isn’t she a cuuuutie? She’s much bigger now, I should really get more photos of her :3

My hobbies include cooking/baking, anything nail-related, and a (sadly) continuing addiction to World of Warcraft. I dabble in jewellery-making (I made my own wedding hairpiece), read oh-too-many books and enjoy film and television. Of course one of my favourite past-times is shopping with my MaSucree

I’m on all sorts of social platforms. Find me on Tumblr, Pinterest, Twitter, DeviantART, and Facebook (through my blog page). If you ever want to contact me, you can email me at delindel.dani@gmail.com.

You have a degree in Japanese? Wow! I’d love to be able to speak and read Japanese. I’ve tried a site called Lang-8 and met a few nice Japanese people but I just can’t motivate myself to study. I think it’s because we don’t have classes for Japanese here so I have to try to study online (which is terrible since I end up watching anime or reading manga). I have decided that I want to try to learn Hiragana/Kanji before trying to write on Lang-8 again because there just isn’t much point in only writing in Romaji=S

Yeah learning in hiragana and kanji is definitely very important, romaji is pretty useless when it comes down to it.
At my university we started out with the Genki books, you can get them here. They’re pretty expensive, but worth it if you’re serious about learning 🙂

Thanks =] I will have to buy the books. I do want to learn so I can go to Japan and be able to communicate. I think its harder to learn hiragana and kanji because of all the little strokes makes it easy to confuse certain characters.

As long as you keep at it and get a little bit of study done every day, you’ll be fine 😀

That’s true! I will have to keep myself motivated =]
