Nails and Tea!

15 Nov

Hurrah for random mix of stuff and things. Not too sure where to start… Hmm…

Ooh yes let’s start with the nails I did for my friend on her birthday! These aren’t the best photos, but you can get a basic idea. Please keep in mind that this is only the second time I’ve ever attempted to attack someone else’s nails!

I’m not really sure what these are, it was a design that wasn’t really planned out. It just sorta happened as I was playing with a new striper (LA Colors Silver). Let’s go with fireworks? Yeah. We only put rhinestones on the bottom corners because she uses her hands a lot and we didn’t want rhinestones on the tips!

Bad bad photos, but I’m pretty pleased with the nails! The base colour was China Glaze Want My Bawdy.

Next up I wanna show you what I’ve been getting through these last few days! The above ^^ friend recently went to Sydney and bought me back some teeeea! Because tea shops here are butt and I fell in love with the Tea Centre when we went there last year on our honeymoon. So I gave her a list and some money and begged her to bring me home some tea :3

  • Yorkshire Blend: “Traditional blend of Sri Lankan black tea.”
  • Chai Vanilla: “Black tea, vanilla, cinnamon, liquorice, orange peel, fennel & cardamom.”
  • Glögg: “Black tea with cinnamon, orange peel, almond pieces, ginger pieces, cloves & cardamon.

  • Christmas Tea: “Black tea with almond pieces, orange peel, apple pieces, cornflowers, cinnamon & cloves.”
  • Amaretto: “Black tea with almond essence & finely diced almond pieces. (Marzipan flavour)”
  • Turkish Delight: “A black tea with those sweet flavours of Rose and Vanilla.  This subtly sweet tea can be enjoyed anytime but is especially nice with ‘Afternoon Tea’ or after dinner instead of a dessert and certainly comes with less calories.”

If you’re not drooling by now, I don’t know if we can be friends anymore 😛 So far I’ve tried the Yorkshire Blend, Amaretto, and Glögg. And I have not been disappointed at all! 😀 Om nom nom nom teaaaaa ❤

ANYHOO! Last up is the nails I did on myself the same day I did my friend’s. This started out as basic striper testing before starting her nails, but eventually turned into thiiiis!

They’re like… dragonflies or something :3 Sorry about the tip chips, I took this photo over a day later so they suffered from housework chore syndrome. Still super cute though! Polishes used were China Glaze Liquid Leather, LA Colors Silver striper, and Jordana Star Designer silver glitter striper. And little rhinestones from Born Pretty Store 🙂

And yes, that’s my right hand :3

Yaaaay!

Soooo, anyone in Auckland… I’m open to do your nails if you come visit me and pay me some money 😉

Del’s Cheese and Bacon Scrolls Recipe

21 Aug

Om nom nom! It’s been a while since I’ve posted something other than nails, so I thought I’d give it a stab to prove I don’t just sit around painting my nails all day. Sometimes I hang out in the kitchen! I can’t take full credit for these tasties – my awesomesauce sister was bragging on Facebook about hers so I stole her recipe. It’s just a basic scone recipe, but I thought I’d share because everybody loves cheese and bacon. Plus they’re rolled into scrolls instead of just a lumpy mclumplump scone lump.

I also managed to get a few pictures for you. Because you know, I love you and stuff ❤

Cooking With MaSucree: Pumpkin Soup

31 Mar

My goodness! You mean I do other things beside shop and swatch nail polish?! XD I know dear readers where have I been? and thanks goodness I brought food to make up for it. For the last wee while an assignment has been holding me captive, it is almost done I promise 🙂

How have you all been? I hope your weekends have been free to cook, craft, play with makeup or even just take it easy. Besides my assignment I did get to go out to the movies, like most people you can guess what I saw….The Hunger Games. I may have come home and immediately ordered all three of the books.

Anyway onto the recipe!

One of the very first posts I did was a recipe for my Mama’s amazing pumpkin soup. Now that I have a better camera I wanted to repost the recipe. I adore pumpkin soup and the best thing is that it is one of the easiest things to make.

Where on Earth has Delindel Been?!

4 Mar

Oh hi! It’s been a while huh? Just letting you know I’m not dead, just very tired most of the time XD

I’ve been really busy aside from work, trying to keep up with all my social obligations. Sometimes it’s tough having friends 😉 They know I love them really. Balancing work, family stuff, friends and husband time, along with blogging and gaming (yeah, continued addiction) is hard, especially if you have tendencies towards laziness like I do >_<

Aside from all that, it was also Sir Husband’s and my first wedding anniversary at the end of last month and we went on a mini getaway. So I thought I’d share some photos from that with you! We have been together for 7 years now, and husband and wife for one of those years 😀

Anyway, getaway photos!

Hulucat Tea House and a Haul

15 Feb

Hey everybody!

Hasn’t Miss MaSucree been taking good care of you while I’ve been busy? ^_^ It’s good that she’s got some time off at the moment, because I’ve been fairly busy and not up for blogging.

However, today I managed to have a day off and actually socialise with people! Shock horror! I spent the day with Miss Amy drinking tea and eating sushi and buying things. It was rather fun! So I have a couple of things to show off.

Easy Thai Chicken Noodle Soup

27 Jan

Last week I tried something new for dinner and Sir Husband liked it so much I decided it was worthy of sharing! However, a word of warning: if you’re not fantastic with spicy food (like me) don’t put quite as much curry paste in as I did XD

I found this recipe in a random food magazine from 2009. I think it was Recipes+, but I’m not 100% sure on that.

Anyway, here we go:

Easy Berry Smoothies with Delindel

3 Jan

Right. Since it’s the New Year, and it’s summer, I’ve decided to try to be good this year! So instead of pigging out on chocolates for dessert last night (we got given a lot of chocolate over Christmas), I made some tasty summer berry smoothies instead.

One of my favourite things about living where I do is that we have a Farro supermarket not TOO far away. Walking distance even. It’s a bit of a stretch for me because I hate wasting my time walking, but hey. It’s summer. And walking is good. I like going to Farro because I really do feel like everything there is super fresh; best of all, they support small New Zealand growers. Plus there’s something neat about being able to buy a hot fresh coffee from a counter in the centre of the supermarket, then paying for it at the checkouts.

Anyway, yesterday I went for a big ole walk out to Farro and picked up a random selection of fresh fruits and vegetables… This is relevant because this is where I got the idea that smoothies would be an excellent and healthy alternative to rubbish.

Without further rambling… You will need:
