Eight More Mode Swatches – and Bonus NotD

29 Mar

The other day I showed you my latest Mode hauls and expressed a desire to find time to swatch them this week. And huzzah! The weather obliged. I’ve tried to swatch most of them in direct sunlight, except where the clouds took over without me noticing XD I just want to say that Mode has some seriously beautiful colours, and I’m a bit sad that I’ve only found them at one pharmacy. I’ll just have to hope they don’t get rid of them any time soon!

Ready for some polish porn?

First haul:

L-R: Party Girl; Midsummer Dream; Messed Up; Silk Champagne

Party Girl

Midsummer Dream

Messed Up

Silk Champagne

Hint: Party Girl has some incredible shimmer, click for a full size pic!

Second haul:

L-R: (ignore the Depend, no swatches of that one yet); Glitterati; Frenemy; Bahama; Juicy Plum

Glitterati: First two fingers are 3 coats, second two are one coat Glitterati over Black. Click for sparklies!

Juicy Plum: Woah that shimmer! Oh baby!

I can’t even begin to explain how much I love my Mode polishes! They have great brushes and drying time, the formula is super easy to work with – not too watery and not too gloopy >_< Plus at the pharmacy I found them, they’re only $4.50 NZD a bottle. Fantastico! I always get compliments when I wear any of the colours to work (that’s secretly my favourite part of work – being complimented by customers!)

And hey, since I know you’re all totally interested, here’s my current nails…

This is after one day at home doing chores and one day at work, so excuse the chipping on my middle nail! Eep! I was going for a speckled-egg look. Sir Husband loves it, he says it’s the best nails I’ve ever done! >_< He’s a bit of a weirdo.

It’s two coats of Australis Sweetpea, one coat of Milani Gems, a coat of Seche Vite to seal, a coat of Jordana Soft Pink (a very sheer pastel pink to blot out and soften the glitter), then Seche Vite to finish. Ta-dah! Super fun and great for Easter next weekend ^_^

I love layering 😀

Now I’ve got a very busy next couple of weeks, what with birthdays this weekend, work in between, and an out-of-town wedding next weekend! So I’ll try to keep you updated on the Facebook page ^_^ Go Like us if you haven’t already 😀

Until I see you next~

Oh, love the swatches! Glitterati is calling my name – what pharmacy do you find them in? I’m always on the lookout for good, affordable nail polishes here in good old NZ 🙂

Hey I picked them up in the Unichem Pharmacy on Queen St here in Auckland. If you’re not in Auckland, try sneaking into any Unichem and see if you can find some!!! Otherwise I’m sure we could arrange something to get a bottle to you 😀

I’m wracking my brains to see where else I saw them, and you know, I think it was in Pak n Save once? They didnt have anything that pretty though! I’m going to go and stalk Unichem now – also, having a quick internet browse, looks like they might not test on animals. YAY! Thanks for the info, awesome swatches, and general wonderfulness 🙂
