Nails and Tea!

15 Nov

Hurrah for random mix of stuff and things. Not too sure where to start… Hmm…

Ooh yes let’s start with the nails I did for my friend on her birthday! These aren’t the best photos, but you can get a basic idea. Please keep in mind that this is only the second time I’ve ever attempted to attack someone else’s nails!

I’m not really sure what these are, it was a design that wasn’t really planned out. It just sorta happened as I was playing with a new striper (LA Colors Silver). Let’s go with fireworks? Yeah. We only put rhinestones on the bottom corners because she uses her hands a lot and we didn’t want rhinestones on the tips!

Bad bad photos, but I’m pretty pleased with the nails! The base colour was China Glaze Want My Bawdy.

Next up I wanna show you what I’ve been getting through these last few days! The above ^^ friend recently went to Sydney and bought me back some teeeea! Because tea shops here are butt and I fell in love with the Tea Centre when we went there last year on our honeymoon. So I gave her a list and some money and begged her to bring me home some tea :3

  • Yorkshire Blend: “Traditional blend of Sri Lankan black tea.”
  • Chai Vanilla: “Black tea, vanilla, cinnamon, liquorice, orange peel, fennel & cardamom.”
  • Glögg: “Black tea with cinnamon, orange peel, almond pieces, ginger pieces, cloves & cardamon.

  • Christmas Tea: “Black tea with almond pieces, orange peel, apple pieces, cornflowers, cinnamon & cloves.”
  • Amaretto: “Black tea with almond essence & finely diced almond pieces. (Marzipan flavour)”
  • Turkish Delight: “A black tea with those sweet flavours of Rose and Vanilla.  This subtly sweet tea can be enjoyed anytime but is especially nice with ‘Afternoon Tea’ or after dinner instead of a dessert and certainly comes with less calories.”

If you’re not drooling by now, I don’t know if we can be friends anymore :P So far I’ve tried the Yorkshire Blend, Amaretto, and Glögg. And I have not been disappointed at all! :D Om nom nom nom teaaaaa <3

ANYHOO! Last up is the nails I did on myself the same day I did my friend’s. This started out as basic striper testing before starting her nails, but eventually turned into thiiiis!

They’re like… dragonflies or something :3 Sorry about the tip chips, I took this photo over a day later so they suffered from housework chore syndrome. Still super cute though! Polishes used were China Glaze Liquid Leather, LA Colors Silver striper, and Jordana Star Designer silver glitter striper. And little rhinestones from Born Pretty Store :)

And yes, that’s my right hand :3

Yaaaay!

Soooo, anyone in Auckland… I’m open to do your nails if you come visit me and pay me some money ;)

Hulucat Tea House and a Haul

15 Feb hulucat01

Hey everybody!

Hasn’t Miss MaSucree been taking good care of you while I’ve been busy? ^_^ It’s good that she’s got some time off at the moment, because I’ve been fairly busy and not up for blogging.

However, today I managed to have a day off and actually socialise with people! Shock horror! I spent the day with Miss Amy drinking tea and eating sushi and buying things. It was rather fun! So I have a couple of things to show off.

Delindel’s Busy Christmas (Featuring Some Christmasy Nails and Some Tasty Baking)

26 Dec xmas01

Goodness MaSucree has been an awfully busy lady! I feel a bit naughty and lazy now… But hey if you can’t be naughty and lazy during the silly season, when can you?!

I hope you all had fantastic Christmases, I know mine was pretty great. Got some nice things, spent time with awesome people and ate a butt-tonne of delicious food (mmm, ham). My Christmas was actually ridiculously busy.

On Saturday (Christmas Eve), my sister, her husband and kids, Sir Husband and I, all headed down to Hamilton to spend a few hours with our mum, stepdad, little brother and sister. My mum is a chef, so you can imagine how ridonk tasty our Christmas lunch was! I didn’t take my camera though so I have no pictures to share :( However, today I took photos of my haul from that part of my family :D

More Tea – After Dinner Mint

14 Oct ADM01

You know I’ve been busy when all I have time to talk about is tea and nail polish ;) Here’s another tea review, obviously from Aaah Tea. This one is the After Dinner Mint, one of their many flavoured blacks (my favourite kinds). Yay! I am in superlove with this tea – black Ceylon with chocolate, peppermint, spearmint, apple pieces and (best of all!) macadamia nuts. Heaven much?!

Nightea Night Review

12 Oct NT01

Hurrah, another tea review from the beloved Aaah Tea <3 This one is extra special because it’s a request from a reader! After receiving the request I sent off an email to the lovely and oh-so-accommodating Tash at Aaah, and got a sample sent out lickety-split. Today’s is the Nightea Night healing herbal blend - a lovely simple sleepy-time tea!

MaSucree’s Aaah Tea Parcel

9 Oct Red Teapot

Delindel has been quite busy the last week or so trying out teas and reviewing them I thought it was time I dusted out my tea pot as well.

Now I am not a big tea drinker, I am more of an insane coffee drinker. Every morning the first thing I do is down a cup of coffee before anything else. Don’t get me wrong I actually love the taste of coffee and I take it with no sugar. I am also very picky about my coffee, so my instant brew is Moccona classic and if I am out I will buy a trim flat white preferably double shot.

The tea I usually drink is Lipton Lemon and Honey, yes I know in a bag! I also have a vast selection of other teas but Gabby is a bit more into it than I am. There is one brand of tea that brings out the esscentric in me though, Aaah Tea.

Tea Review: Genmaicha

2 Oct genmaicha02

Tonight I have a bit of a review of one of Aaah’s green teas – the basic Genmaicha. This one is a mix of simple bancha (Japanese green) tea leaves, with some added roasted rice grains. Sounds strange to some people (MaSucree was a bit like “O_o wut?” when I told her about it!) but is surprisingly yummy!

Tea Review 3: Breakfast Brew, and a Little Bit of Shopping

1 Oct bb01

I was very excited to try this tea!  I used to enjoy drinking a cup of tea in the morning, but since starting my addiction to loose leaf teas I haven’t been able to stomach bagged tea and I felt like there would be no point buying a plain black loose leaf tea. How wrong I was!

The Breakfast Brew is, obviously, Aaah’s take on the traditional English Breakfast. It’s a lovely-smelling mix of various sized black tea leaves and as the website says, full of flavour! I adore it because we all know how I feel about milk and honey in tea! This is one tea I can certainly justify adding milk to ><

Delindel’s First Recent Purchase Review

30 Sep rpr06

MaSucree has done quite a few of these things already and I thought it would be a bit silly of me to do a tea review 3 posts in a row! I have more tea reviews coming of course (I took some notes this morning, and am taking some more right now!) but today I thought I’d go over a few of my recent (and some not-so-recent) purchases.

Almost 3 weeks ago MaSucree and I received a new Beauty Joint order that MaSucree posted briefly about here. I thought I’d finally get around to showing off the things I got! In that order I picked up two Nyx round lipsticks (Hades and Champagne), a Nyx jumbo eye pencil (Milk) , a Nyx slide-on eye pencil (Jewel), and a Milani nail polish (Jewel FX Gems)! Yay!

Tea Review 2: Luscious Lively Lemon

28 Sep IMG_0371

I’ve been feeling a bit poorly so today is just another tea review >< This time I chose Luscious Lively Lemon, which is one of Aaah’s fruit infusions. As with my last tea review, this tea is another that needs to be enjoyed without milk. I brewed mine for 8 minutes again (when it says 5-10 minutes I try to aim for half-way).

This tea looks absolutely delicious with all those little chunks of apple, lemon peel and lemongrass~ yummy!
