MUA Nail Varnish Swatches

Waaaah Worst Blogger Award. I’m full of excuses lately, but the simple fact is I just can’t find time. I paint my nails at night, wake up and leave before the morning light is good enough for photos, then my nails get all mashed and chipped by the end of the work day. It’s exhausting! Soooo, Worst Blogger Award.

About 2 weeks ago (woops) I posted some teaser photos of upcoming hauls. Here’s the first! I placed a MUA order when they were having their massive sale, and yeah. Stuff arrived!

I accidentally left out my Great Lips lip balm in this photo and my BB cream, but pretend you see them… Anyway, that’s a concealer, eyeliner, mascara, 2 eyeshadow palettes, 6 lipsticks, 4 polishes, and an invisible lip balm and BB cream. All for about $30 NZD. Woooo! Best sale evaaah.

While I am by absolutely no means a true beauty blogger, I thought I’d attempt some lipsticks swatches on my hand. I’m sorry XD

Aaaand  that’s all the MUA polish I have for now. I’m waiting on another package from them that I ordered with MaSu, but it sadly hasn’t arrived yet (hmph).

Things I like:

• Fairly well-pigmented, 2 coats is sufficient for full coverage in person.
• Price! Only £1, which converts to about $1.80 NZD.
• Formula was easy to work with.
• Looooove the colours!

Things that could be worked on:

• Tiny bottles by my standards (6.2mL).
• Weirdly stiff brush meant I had to be careful with application – you can see where I’ve messed up.
• Only some shades have names… This bothers me >_<

All in all I’m pretty happy with these, and I’d buy more! If you’re buying from MUA and you spot a colour you like, don’t hesitate to pick it up. You can’t really go wrong with such a great price.

If you’re curious about the rest of the stuff in the haul, feel free to ask because I probably won’t end up posting about it. I’m pretty happy with all the stuff I picked out, I chose the concealer and BB cream well and the eyeshadows are amazing. No complaints here!

Recent Shopping Fun with Delindel

Ooookay yeah, I know, I’m terrible and a ridiculously lazy blogger and I don’t deserve to be here! I am aware of how pathetic and whiny it sounds since I only work part-time, but work is reallllly getting me down lately. Even though I need the money, I’m looking forward to our new assistant manager starting soonish so I won’t have to be at work as much. I think it’s kinda hitting me hard that I’m now a university graduate with a Bachelor’s degree, and I work part-time in retail. I’ve been having zero luck on the job-hunting front and it’s making me feel rather rubbish!

So, as ever, I resort to shopping to make myself feel better, particularly nail stuff. So today I’ve got a few things to show off from the past two weeks or so. Omgggg, how exciting for you!

Maybelline Red Color Sensational Lipcolor Lipsticks – Review and Swatches

Good Afternoon Sweetie Darlings!

I am home still from work, better today but still feeling slightly run over. Gabby is taking me to Hunger Games (again) tomorrow night and Mama has promise to take me to Dressmart Mall tomorrow if I am better. So I have to bed better, that and being sick makes me feel sorry for myself.

ANYWAY enough moping, I promised swatches and here are some new lipstick swatches for you.

As I mentioned yesterday I brought a lot of Maybelline Color Sensational Lipcolor lipsticks from Postie. Instead of being the regular $26.00NZD each I got them for $10.00NZD each. Maybelline is a brand that I haven’t really tried too much, except for my Dream Lumi Concealer which is perfect. So after my success with my concealer I was interested in trying other Maybelline products, that and for such a reasonable price how could I say no?

How has your week been? I hope it has been better than mine, I went home early from work and have had a couple of days off sick. Delindel took me shopping so I would stop feeling sorry for myself, which worked.

So on to the shopping. When I say I did large amounts of shopping I mean it!  Since it was such a redonk amount of shopping I thought I would share with you what I got. Enjoy :3

KleanColor Lipstick in Raisin and Soft Rose

Hello my darlings!

How has your weekend been? Mine was full of watching Bones and generally procrastinating about getting my study done. BUT I assure you I did do it and am now ready to start my assignment. While I was procrastinating yesterday I discovered all these photos of things I have yet to post and share with you lovely readers. Some of those photos were of the KleanColor lipsticks I brought last month.

I have tried a few things from the KleanColor collection including a ton of their nail polish, eyeliners and eyeshadow. Most of their products are of good quality, inexpensive and have good staying powder, so I do not find it hard to try something new of theirs. However I was a bit meh I suppose is the word about these lipsticks. Don’t get me wrong the colours are gorgeous (as you will see soon), but the smell and the texture were what let it down. Both lipsticks have a very strong sweet smell that is a lot like cheap soap or perfume and you have to almost drag the lipstick across you lips to get it on, which means your lips feel a bit battered.

I do not think I will be buying any more of the KleanColor Lipsticks, I will try other products of theirs as there will be some more winners out there. I do however really like the colours I got so please take a look and see what you think.

Chi Chi Viva La Diva Lipstick in Style Stealer

Sadly my last Chi Chi Lipstick Hollywood Heiress has to be returned because the base was broken and the lipstick got all mushed up I was unable to get an exact replacement but I found another colour – Styler Stealer. I am even more impressed with this colour than the last Though I will also replace Hollywood Heiress as I love the colour.

Jordana Lip Glosses in Amorose, Caramelo, Sorbet and Sunset Kiss

We all know that I have a love affair with lipsticks and lip glosses and we all know that I love Jordana. So it is of no surprise that I have been collecting even more of their lip products. My recent discovery thanks to Delindel is their Lip Gloss range which sells for $4.00 NZD.

I hope you enjoy looking at my new colours and perhaps if you can find them give them a go too! I love sharing with you guys.

The Quest for the Perfect Red Lipstick

Red lipstick when done properly can lift an outfit, amp up the sexy and add a wiggle to your step. When done badly it can make you look as though your little sister did you make up or even just plain trampy. It is one of those lipstick colours I have just avoided, I have rather plump lips so if I get colours wrong it really in your face XD

I love vintage and pin up so I have been on a quest for the perfect red lipstick for me. I have looked at other brands but they were a bit too expensive for me to splash on a red lipstick that might not be right. So off I rocked to the closest Jordana stand. They had quite a few different shades but it was Radiant Red that really caught my eye, for $3.00 NZD it wasn’t something to sweat about if it was wrong.

For my first attempt at buying a red lipstick and a $3.00 NZD one at that I am thoroughly pleased. Take a look at my swatches.

China Glaze – Cow Girl Up, Watermelon Rind and Lorelei’s Tiara

China Glaze is a collection that is super hard to get hold of in New Zealand. Delindel and I have been looking into it for a while now, it seems as though the lovely staff at BeautyJoint took pity on us and started stocking China Glaze. This week they have also expanded the collections they have and they now stock the new Capitol Colors and Metro Collection.

As I mentioned in my shopping post I brought three polishes in my last Beauty Joint order, they were Cow Girl Up, Watermelon Rind and Lorelei’s Tiara. I am very happy with all these colours, not just how they look but how they last, how they go on and how they set. China Glaze really is everything I hoped it would be.

So take a look at my latest additions to my ever growing nail polish collection. Some of the colours have multiple pictures cause I wanted to share just how amazing they are
